Biography

During his time at the Bar John has acquired extensive experience appearing at all levels of civil courts, including the House of Lords, and tribunals. While he is regularly instructed in employment, contract and reparation cases, his practice focuses primarily on the family law field in which he speaks at events and contributes newspaper articles. John has been an office-bearer of Advocates Child and Family Law Group from 2000 to date and is currently vice-chair.

John is one of the notable practitioners in Family / Matrimonial Law in Scotland and has been ranked in Chambers UK Guide for a number of years. The current edition describes him as 'first choice for solicitors who demand strategy and innovation.'
