News: First successful appeal to the Court under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act

Jonathan Mitchell QC and Scott Blair acted successfully for a consortium of local authorities in Dumfries and Galloway Council v Scottish Information Commissioner, 8 February 2008.  This is the first case in which the Court of Session has allowed an appeal against a decision of the Commissioner.  The case settles an important issue as to the availability of trading standards information.  Decision here http://www.scotcourts.gov.uk/opinions/2008CSIH12.html .
