The inaugural event organised by members of the Murray Stable Employment Law Group brought together a variety of speakers covering a range of topical employment law issues.
The seminar was chaired by Ian Truscott QC and the keynote speaker was the Honourable Lady Smith, Scottish Judge of the Employment Appeal Tribunal, who spoke on The View from the EAT. Lady Smith also gave her comments on various aspects of age discrimination law. Her talk was followed by two shorter talks, one by Alice Stobart, Advocate, on the latest case-law on unfair dismissal, and another by Donald Cameron, Advocate, on agency workers. Brian Napier QC then gave an update on discrimination law and after lunch there was a session led by Ailsa Carmichael on tribunal advocacy.
The event was a success and well attended by solicitors from private firms, local authorities, banks and public bodies.
Attendees qualified for 4.5 hours CPD.
