Legal Services Agency is hosting a major conference to mark the 10th anniversary of the Human Rights Act.

The conference will look at what has been learnt and achieved, as well as how this area may develop. There are seven major speakers and eight workshops. Topics covered include: the New Bill of Rights?, a summary of Human Rights in the Scottish Legal System, our experience of HR litigation, social economic and cultural rights, criminal law, anti-terrorist legislation, family law, prison law, religion, housing and homelessness as well as community care and independent living.

Simon Collins, Advocate, will speak on the topic of 'Human Rights - A Development of our Legal System?'.

Janys Scott QC and Rosemary Guinnane, Advocate, will lead workshops on the topics of 'Human Rights & Family Law' and 'Discrimination' respectively.
