Murray Stable Commercial and Insovlency Group combined with R3 to hold a successful half day conference on 'Pre Packs and Recent Developments in Corporate Recovery'.

Lord Hodge described the current approach of the Commercial Court to arrestment and the appointment of Provisional Receivers, he discussed innovative procedures such as written statements and preliminary proofs which in appropriate cases may increase the speed and efficiency obtaining justice.

Dr Sandra Frisby provided the conclusions of her latest empirical research into the packs and developments in the law and recent cases.

Iain Artis, Advocate of the Murray Stable, also presented an analysis of recent cases in the area and added some cautionary notes on the possible abuse of the Pre Pack process.

Bruce Cartwright of PWC added practical guidance on best practice in the management of the Insolvent Company and the case of Pre Packs.

Richard Aird, Advocate also of the Murray Stable who chaired the conference, concluded this was 'a most successful and widely attended conference and we look forward to holding similar events with R3 in Scotland in the future'.
