THE Murray stable is hosting an event later this month to introduce its Public, Administrative and Human Rights Law Group.

As part of its move towards greater specialisation and offering the best possible service to solicitors and clients the stable is developing internal groupings of which the Public, Administrative and Human Rights Law Group is the second.

The stable takes pride in being innovative and was the first to introduce a client care statement as well as the first civil stable to move to an entirely electronic diary system.

Derek O’Carroll, co-ordinator of the Public, Administrative and Human Rights Law Group, said: “This group is an integral part of the Murray Stable and offers an unparalleled range of expertise, knowledge and experience to solicitors and direct access clients in these areas of law.”

Its 23 members include Mungo Bovey QC, the recently-elected Keeper of the Advocates Library, Valerie Stacey QC, who was the first woman to be elected Vice-Dean of Faculty and Alan Summers, Chairman of Faculty Services Ltd.

The event at the Faculty of Advocates’ Mackenzie Building in Old Assembly Close,

172 High Street, Edinburgh
, begins at 5.30 on Thursday May 29. It will be introduced by Murray Stable director Janys Scott QC and will include Jonathan Mitchell QC and Ailsa Carmichael speaking on 10 do’s and don’ts for planning and running a judicial review case. There will be a wine reception afterwards providing an opportunity for informal contact with the Practice Manager, Iain Murray.

Attendance at the event is free, but places are limited. Places should be reserved in advance by email: clerks@murraystable.com, phone 0131 260 5670 or letter to the Murray Stable, Parliament House, EH1 1RF.
