NEWS: Launch of report on Treatment of Medico-Legal Reports for Survivors of Torture in the UK Asylum Tribunal

Murray Stable member Piya Muqit, Advocate, who is currently working as Children's Law & Policy Officer for the Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture, advises that the Medical Foundation's report entitled 'Body of Evidence: Treatment of Medico-Legal Reports for Survivors of Torture in the UK Asylum Tribunal' will be launched on Tuesday 24 May 2011 at an event at Garden Court Chambers, London, at 6pm.

The report examines the treatment of Medical Foundation Medico-Legal Reports (MLRs) by Immigration Judges in the Tribunal and assesses compliance with good practice standards and guidelines. The introduction of the report will be followed by a panel-led discussion of the key findings and recommendations for future practice.
