NEWS: Legal 500 listings for 16 Murray Stable members

Murray Stable welcomed its increased presence in the 2010 edition of Legal 500 UK. Stable members merit 16 mentions across 7 categories in the new edition, with Jonathan Mitchell QC and Andrew Webster each making two appearances.
The Legal 500 UK guide states: "Murray Stable's response times are universally good and the quality of clerking is first class."

Under Commercial litigation, Jonathan Mitchell QC is described as "slightly old school in his approach - he is methodical and will not be bullied" and Andrew Webster is "persuasive, easy to work with, and good in court".
Employment practitioner Ian Truscott QC is recognised as "a big presence in court, whose opinions should be taken very seriously".
Four stable members with family law & childcare practices received recommendations: Janys Scott QC "is out on her own when it comes to both financial provision and child law", Kirsty Malcolm "is extremely knowledgeable on cohabitation issues and has a down-to-earth manner that works well with clients". John Mundy "is very experienced and has a very gentle and thoughtful approach that endears him to clients", Ross Macfarlane "is very persuasive in children and education cases".
Iain Mitchell QC and Iain Artis were both mentioned once again under the heading of Intellectual property and information technology. Mr Mitchell QC "is one of the few barristers who has a deep understanding of free and open source software". Iain Artis "is recommended for brand management and protection."
Under Personal injury, medical negligence and professional negligence, Alan Summers QC was described as "well prepared and has the ability to quickly digest large volumes of material and then provide hard, cold analysis." Chris Marney "represents the electrical contractor in the Rosepark Fatal Accident Inquiry."
Scott Blair "successfully represented the appellant in Shafiq v North Lanarkshire Licensing Board - the first appeal to be decided under the new Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005" and is included within the planning, environmental and licensing section.
Four counsel are listed under Public and administrative law: Jonathan Mitchell QC's "judicial review expertise is well established", Ailsa Carmichael QC "is recommended for appellate instructions and judicial review, particularly where discrimination is an issue", Mungo Bovey QC "is noted for his preparation and persuasiveness" and Andrew Webster "is easy to work with and a very persuasive advocate."
