THE INSOLVENCY CONFERENCE 2007

The annual Insolvency Conference which was held in Glasgow this year was chaired by Richard Aird, Advocate and Barrister.  Other speakers included Alistair Burrow of Tods Murray, Simon Catto and Pamela Muir of HBJ Gateley Wareing and Gregor Murray of RSB Macdonald.  Professor Gerry Maher of Scottish Law Commission convened the panel session.

Richard Aird commented, "It was good to welcome so many distinguished Lawyers and Insolvency Practitioners to this event again this year.  With the number of corporate and personal insolvencies in Scotland so rapidly increasing and with new legislation pending it is important that the professions have the opportunity to discuss current legal issues and concerns".

Iain Murray, Advocates Clerk, commented that the level of insolvency business of all types which had come to the Murray Stable in recent months had shown a marked increase and this was no doubt largely due to the expertise that the members concerned had developed in this growing field.  Erica Turnbull from the Murray Stable also attended the Conference in Glasgow to represent the Stable.
