The Faculty has a detailed written:

How to Instruct Counsel

Information on instructing an Advocate if you are not a solicitor

If you are visiting this site and you are neither a solicitor nor a member of a Direct Access Group then we regret that under the existing Code of Conduct counsel are not permitted to advise you directly.

We would recommend that you engage a solicitor to act on your behalf. If you require further assistance in this matter you should contact the Law Society of Scotland who will be able to recommend an appropriate solicitor to you.
