Family Law Group
The Murray Stable houses a concentration of some of Scotland's most experienced and well-regarded Advocates who specialise in all areas of Family Law. The Family Law Group ("FLaG") was set up to provide a quick and easy means of identifying and accessing expertise in all areas of Family Law. The members of FLaG are regularly instructed on behalf of a wide range of clients from individuals in Divorce/Dissolution, Residence and Contact cases to local authorities and individuals in Adoption matters. FLaG members also have a particular expertise advising both sides in cases involving Education Law (including Additional Support Needs and Placing Requests), International Child Abduction and Children's Hearing Referrals. The members of FlaG publish regularly: some of their publications appear on this website.
FLaG members have an extensive number of reported cases to their credit, including some of the most important House of Lords and Inner House decisions of recent years. The quality and experience of the FlaG membership ensures comprehensive coverage of all Family Law issues arising in 21st Century Scotland.
What Services Does the Group Offer?

They may also be instructed in relation to written work such as Opinions and the drafting of pleadings as well as consultations.
Members of the Group are available for instruction through Direct Access, a new, more accessible and economical means of obtaining counsel's services.

The Group also offers free or low cost CPD training which may be provided on request in-house or to local faculties of solicitors.
The Group organises an annual conference of major topical interest.
